Narrative:
Landing with some gusting winds and 95 degree lifting action. Bounced on landing and touched down again well left of centerline. Left tire went off left side of prepared surface and then over an embankment which caused aircraft to slide down the slope and collapse the left gear. In retrospect; a go around even from idle; might have saved the day. I plan to get more crosswind instruction once the aircraft is repaired.
