Narrative:
Lga on takeoff, turning from initial 175 degree heading (takeoff on runway 13) to 340 degree. Right generator went off bus and the aircraft cross-tie relay was prevented by the aircraft cross-tie lockout from transferring right electrical busses to the left generator. It took to about 5000' to restore radio contact (climbing at 5000 FPM from 2500'). No conflict with other aircraft and departure gave vectors to allow time to execute the generator out abnormal procedures. Power to all busses was restored and permission was granted from company systems control to proceed to jacksonville, fl.
