Narrative:
B737 was climbing westbound at the west side of the lateral confines of the dsv sector. 32000 feet was displayed as an interim altitude with 38000 feet on request and flashed at the HUD sector. HUD sector took the handoff changed the data block interim altitude to 33000 feet and handed off to lak sector. Lak took the handoff and removed the interim altitude to show climbing to 38000 feet. They did not have communications with B737. B737 was not under the lateral confines of their airspace which makes this illegal and unsafe. No back coordination was done either. Not that it would have make it anymore legal or safe. Only change the data block when the aircraft is in your area of jurisdiction or you are talking to the aircraft. Not a safe way to work.
