Narrative:
[While flying approximately 100 nm north of ktme] right before sunset and notice that a tower light at 295709n0960045w is out of service; but it was not in the NOTAM and not sure who to report to.two drop zones (fentress and luling) disappeared from san antonio sectional while they are still in operation. On the other hand; two drop zones (waller and sealy) show on houston's sectional; but they shut down long time ago. FAA needs to have better control over sectional updates especially for something that critical. You cannot see and avoid a human falling from the sky at 120 miles an hour.been on contact with sgr and tme towers when I became very close to other aircrafts that were not in contact with the towers. I know I'm flying VFR; but I thought towers would be consistent with giving traffic warnings.
