Narrative:

Turning final the landing gear failed to come down when the lever was selected down. I asked the first officer to cycle the lever up and then down one more time and again nothing happened. We went around at about 1000 AGL and asked for the published missed approach and hold to work our problem and checklists. The upper ECAM indication with the landing gear lever down was a red 'left/G not downlocked' and the lower ECAM showed an amber 'ldg control' on the wheels system page. We followed the procedure from the flight manual and when that procedure was completed with the landing gear still not moving we were directed to the left/G grvty extn checklist. Working this checklist we were successful in lowering all three landing gears with green down and locked indication on all three. Since this procedure deactivated nose wheel steering we [advised ATC] and coordinated after landing procedures with dispatch and ATC to be towed off the active runway. Landing and tow in were uneventful and we did not need to deviate from any clearance or violate any regulation.

Narrative: Turning final the landing gear failed to come down when the lever was selected down. I asked the FO to cycle the lever up and then down one more time and again nothing happened. We went around at about 1000 AGL and asked for the published missed approach and hold to work our problem and checklists. The upper ECAM indication with the landing gear lever down was a RED 'L/G NOT DOWNLOCKED' and the lower ECAM showed an AMBER 'LDG CTL' on the Wheels System page. We followed the procedure from the Flight Manual and when that procedure was completed with the Landing Gear still not moving we were directed to the L/G GRVTY EXTN checklist.
