Narrative:
At approximately XX40 am I flew a pr/photo flight to the medical center in the city. The overall purpose of this flight was to land on the new rooftop helipad and check for possible hazards there. Also to pick up photographers to take aerial photos and video tapes of the new facility. These photographers were also going to take pictures of the helicopter as it made the first landing on the new helipad. During this operation I made a total of 6 lndgs and takeoffs from the rooftop helipad. In between, I flew around the new hospital at altitudes ranging from 200-500' AGL according to my altimeter. During the times I flew at the 200' level, I was wnw of the hospital remaining over an uncongested area which was a campus golf course. This are was covered by snow and did not have anyone on the surface. It provided an excellent forced landing area in the event of an emergency. After completing our final landing and just prior to our takeoff to depart the area, I received a radio call from our hospital dispatch advising me that they had received 4 phone calls from residential neighbors to the north of the new hospital complaining about the noise and the helicopter flying over their houses. I did not fly over any homes during this operation; in fact, I purposefully stayed over a road that separated the hospital and the residential neighborhood north of the hospital. I feel these complaints arose because of the noise of our helicopter during this operation, not because of any hazard I presented to this residential neighborhood. I hope to minimize the neighbor complaints in the future by limiting flight operations to straight-in approachs and straight-out departures to the west (over the golf course) when going to the helipad.

Title: HOMEOWNERS COMPLAIN OF HELICOPTER NOISE AND INFER ILLEGAL FLT OVER THIER PROPERTY.
Narrative: AT APPROX XX40 AM I FLEW A PR/PHOTO FLT TO THE MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY. THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF THIS FLT WAS TO LAND ON THE NEW ROOFTOP HELIPAD AND CHK FOR POSSIBLE HAZARDS THERE. ALSO TO PICK UP PHOTOGRAPHERS TO TAKE AERIAL PHOTOS AND VIDEO TAPES OF THE NEW FAC. THESE PHOTOGRAPHERS WERE ALSO GOING TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE HELI AS IT MADE THE FIRST LNDG ON THE NEW HELIPAD. DURING THIS OPERATION I MADE A TOTAL OF 6 LNDGS AND TKOFS FROM THE ROOFTOP HELIPAD. IN BTWN, I FLEW AROUND THE NEW HOSPITAL AT ALTS RANGING FROM 200-500' AGL ACCORDING TO MY ALTIMETER. IT PROVIDED AN EXCELLENT FORCED LNDG AREA IN THE EVENT OF AN EMER. AFTER COMPLETING OUR FINAL LNDG AND JUST PRIOR TO OUR TKOF TO DEPART THE AREA, I RECEIVED A RADIO CALL FROM OUR HOSPITAL DISPATCH ADVISING ME THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED 4 PHONE CALLS FROM RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORS TO THE N OF THE NEW HOSPITAL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE NOISE AND THE HELI FLYING OVER THEIR HOUSES. I DID NOT FLY OVER ANY HOMES DURING THIS OPERATION; IN FACT, I PURPOSEFULLY STAYED OVER A ROAD THAT SEPARATED THE HOSPITAL AND THE RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD N OF THE HOSPITAL. I FEEL THESE COMPLAINTS AROSE BECAUSE OF THE NOISE OF OUR HELI DURING THIS OPERATION, NOT BECAUSE OF ANY HAZARD I PRESENTED TO THIS RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. I HOPE TO MINIMIZE THE NEIGHBOR COMPLAINTS IN THE FUTURE BY LIMITING FLT OPS TO STRAIGHT-IN APCHS AND STRAIGHT-OUT DEPS TO THE W (OVER THE GOLF COURSE) WHEN GOING TO THE HELIPAD.
