Narrative:
Cleared via pre departure clearance; CONLE3 colin J61 hubbs kempr ilm AR15... Soon after takeoff; tower started to send us to departure control frequency; but then said to standby. They then asked us what our destination and SID was that we had been cleared for. I told them. They seemed confused; but sent us to departure. After checking in with departure control; they asked us the same question. I told them the same thing; and asked them what they showed for our destination. They told me to standby; they were too busy to answer my questions; and proceeded to give us vectors to the east. Then they gave us a heading to the north. As we complied; I again queried him about the turn in the opposite direction from florida to verify they had the correct destination (and I was now wondering about a potential fuel issue). He told me; 'I know what I'm doing.' two frequencies later and after multiple vectors; we were given a new route to [our destination]. After things settled down well above FL180; I called back to clearance delivery to see if they had any info on the issue. They said that our flight was issued a revised clearance; but that ATC never passed the revision to us prior to getting airborne; which was their error.
