Narrative:

Cleared via pre departure clearance conle 3 colin J61 hubbs kempr ilm AR15. After takeoff; tower asked what our destination and assigned SID were. They sounded concerned and sent us over to potomac departure. On check in with potomac departure; they also asked us what our destination and assigned SID were. Potomac departure did not seem busier than usual; but the controller sounded like he might be task saturated. Potomac gave us a vector to the east (heading 060; which was the wrong direction for heading to florida) which we complied with. The captain tried to query the controller regarding what he was showing for our destination; but was told to 'stand by'. Potomac then gave us a turn to the north (heading 360). By this point; there was a concern that if the controller thought we were going to a destination in the north; then it might take long enough to sort everything out that we might not have enough fuel to turn back south to our destination. Finally; potomac cleared us to proceed direct to terpz and then intercept the terpz departure; which was not on our flight plan or our pre departure clearance. We reprogrammed the FMC and double verified that it was correct with each other before executing. Once everything settled down; the ca called back to bwi clearance delivery. Apparently; our flight had been rerouted but the reroute had never been passed to the crew.
