Narrative:

I was working the r-side at dalas without a d-side. I was handed off aircraft X from sector 41. The aircraft landed hsv and we are required to descend the aircraft to 11;000 by the boundary and hand them off to M60. Our airspace doesn't allow us ample airspace to comply with this restriction. I dressed the data block up in 41's airspace and when he crossed my boundary I issued the descent clearance and then transferred communication to M60. Our airspace doesn't allow us ample time to descend the hsv landers; update the data block; and initiate the handoff in proper time. It's either too early or too late and we are left with the short end of the stick.the airspace either needs to be redesigned or we need a quick look or a procedure in place.

Title: Atlanta Center Controller reported problems associated with aircraft that had minimal time in the Sector's airspace. The airspace design will not allow ample time to descend aircraft landing HSV; update the datablock; and initiate the handoff in proper time.
