Narrative:
While at cruise at FL310, ATC advised of traffic conflict and requested immediate climb to FL350 with right to 050 degree from 360 degree. Passing FL333, ATC requested immediate descent to 310 in very strong tone which implied a dangerous situation. Idle descent with high rate of drift down resulted in overshooting my altitude of 310 by 500', recovered 30500 to 310 immediately.
