Narrative:
Departed from airport; recieved master warning 'ptrim main inoperative' climbing out of 400 ft AGL. Advised ATC and requested runway heading up to 4000 ft. After running checklist advised the flight attendant we where going back to the airport. [We got a] vector back to an ILS and landed over weight; touching down at 300 FPM. Taxied to the gate.

Title: ERJ-145 Captain reported a trim failure during takeoff. Flight crew returned to the departure airport.
Narrative: Departed from airport; recieved master warning 'PTRIM MAIN INOP' climbing out of 400 ft AGL. Advised ATC and requested runway heading up to 4000 ft.
