Narrative:
We were in a piper archer practicing a soft-field takeoff. During the takeoff phase the student pilot did not input enough right rudder correction and we began to swerve to the left. I was the flight instructor and had to immediately take the flight controls before we veered off the runway. I took the controls and immediately brought the takeoff power to idle; stopped the plane and taxied off the runway.
