Narrative:
Initial departure request was for runway 27, but captain elected to change the departure request to runway 9 (winds 190 05) which is a much shorter taxi from the ramp. All appropriate calls were made on CTAF by the first officer until approaching the active where the captain assumed the radios. An uneventful takeoff and the seibe departure were flown by the first officer. Aircraft checked in with ZLC and flight to glacier park was uneventful. On april I learned that an unidentified source alleged to my company that the runway lights were not on for my takeoff. I do not recall turning the lights on myself. As a crew, we did not have any problems finding or identifying the runways. Nothing looked or felt abnormal on takeoff roll. I do not recall whether the lights were on because everything looked normal at the time. I was shocked when I learned of the allegation, that's how normal I recall everything being. I could not swear as to the position of the runway lights, on or off. The only thing I can say is that in my professional opinion the operation was 100 percent safe.

Title: MYSTERIOUS OBSERVER, MR 'X', CLAIMS ACR MLG DEPARTED HLN, MT, AT NIGHT WITH THE RWY LIGHTS OFF.
Narrative: INITIAL DEP REQUEST WAS FOR RWY 27, BUT CAPT ELECTED TO CHANGE THE DEP REQUEST TO RWY 9 (WINDS 190 05) WHICH IS A MUCH SHORTER TAXI FROM THE RAMP. ALL APPROPRIATE CALLS WERE MADE ON CTAF BY THE F/O UNTIL APCHING THE ACTIVE WHERE THE CAPT ASSUMED THE RADIOS. AN UNEVENTFUL TKOF AND THE SEIBE DEP WERE FLOWN BY THE F/O. ACFT CHKED IN WITH ZLC AND FLT TO GLACIER PARK WAS UNEVENTFUL. ON APRIL I LEARNED THAT AN UNIDENTIFIED SOURCE ALLEGED TO MY COMPANY THAT THE RWY LIGHTS WERE NOT ON FOR MY TKOF. I DO NOT RECALL TURNING THE LIGHTS ON MYSELF. AS A CREW, WE DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBS FINDING OR IDENTIFYING THE RWYS. NOTHING LOOKED OR FELT ABNORMAL ON TKOF ROLL. I DO NOT RECALL WHETHER THE LIGHTS WERE ON BECAUSE EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL AT THE TIME. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I LEARNED OF THE ALLEGATION, THAT'S HOW NORMAL I RECALL EVERYTHING BEING. I COULD NOT SWEAR AS TO THE POS OF THE RWY LIGHTS, ON OR OFF. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS THAT IN MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION THE OPERATION WAS 100 PERCENT SAFE.
