Narrative:
Left main gear light did not illuminate upon gear extension. I cycled the gear up; then lowered it again; but the light still did not illuminate. Per the QRH; we changed the left main gear bulb. After changing the bulb and depressing the 'press to test' button; it remained unilluminated. We continued with the QRH; which resulted in a gear blowdown.

Title: Cessna 402 flight crew reported the left main gear would not extend;so the alternate gear extension procedure was activated.
Narrative: Left main gear light did not illuminate upon gear extension. I cycled the gear up; then lowered it again; but the light still did not illuminate.
