Narrative:

During descent into clt I was assigned to descend and maintain 7000'. We went down to 6600'. The controllers and our altitude alert went off at the same time--the controllers asked our altitude. We told them 6600' and we were correcting. The layover the night before was 9 hours. I wasn't able to get to sleep because of a loud tv in the next room and general/normal worry about being late for the early check-in. I can't sleep well knowing I'm so beat I might not make it up the next morning. Flying when you're so tired you can't think well is what caused this.
