Narrative:
Enroute phase of flight. Initial step down altitude FL300. Approach briefing complete; headsets on early based on language clarity with ATC. Controller accent very strong; required multiple repeats of clearances (ATC to pilot inter cockpit pilot to pilot). Cleared to descend via the arrival landing runways xx. Crossed zzzzz intersections on published restrictions. Continued the descent at 280 knots. Late stage of the arrival hand off to approach and re cleared direct ZZZZZ1 intersection. The turn toward the airport now places the aircraft above profile. Deploying the speed brakes combined with a high rate of descent it now appears the restriction will be met. With the change in distance to ZZZ I relogged in to my ipad to cross check the restrictions on the jeppesen reference 10-1B page. As I am starting to log in to my ipad the captain ask 'when are you going to slow down?' a quick glance down to the navigational display I reply 'at the deceleration waypoint' going back to pulling up the 10-1B and checking the information at the same time the captain states 'you should check your speed'. We have now descended just below 10;000 ft and still at 280 knots. I select 250 knots and rapidly deploy the speed brakes. We have now been cleared for the approach and now need to start aircraft configuration. At this same time the captain chooses to log into his ipad and pull up flight operations manual international procedures and begins to lecture and reprimand me and divert my attention. The aircraft is now much closer to the final approach fix; I continue the configuration to flaps 2. I do not feel comfortable; I am just about to request a turn out for resequence. The captain states 'that is my limit on the gear' and without my request reaches up and lowers the gear. We have passed the final approach fix and continue to configure. Internally I think 'well I was not ready for this approach but if we are not stable by a thousand we'll just go around'. Of course we are not stable by 1000ft. As I am about to call for the go around the captain shouts 'go around' and then begins to loudly shout the go around profile actions while executing them without my input. Vectored for another approach; I configure the aircraft early and we our stable well outside the final approach fix. The remainder of the approach and landing as well as the taxi to the gate are uneventful.
