Narrative:

During flap retraction from 5 degrees to 2 degrees; amber leading edge flap light remained on. Visibility inspection confirmed #5 leading edge device on right wing extended. Decision was made to divert mco (original flight plan fpo-bwi) because of fuel and altitude considerations. With ATC concurrence fuel was dumped. This was necessary to arrive at mco at maximum landing weight. When flaps were extended on approach, all flap and leading edge device indications were normal. Approach and landing were normal. Supplemental information from acn 144161. Visibility inspection on post flight found fuel access door open and locked. Company maintenance at mco released aircraft after functional test of flaps and slats.
