Narrative:
I was the pilot monitoring. We took off from sjc on runway 30R on the tecky 3 departure. We experienced wake turbulence from preceding aircraft. The first officer remarked after that he did not have command bars. I reengaged the LNAV and we began the right turn to the downwind portion. ATC queried us about our position and after confirming the navigation indications I said we show on course. ATC stated we turned late to the downwind and assigned us a heading. The rest of the flight was uneventful.
