Narrative:
Small aircraft X checked in on eyw tower frequency southwest of the field (he was inbound to eyw from the east, southwest of the field, inside the air traffic area and already established on right base to runway 9). I called to ask nqx when they switched small aircraft X. They said a while back. Once small aircraft X landed I asked him when nqx switched him and he said when he was already south of eyw tower (already in our airspace this situation is on the increase.
