Narrative:
Our flight had departed lax and was climbing via the DARRK1 departure. At approximately 11;000 ft; the aircraft encountered wake turbulence and rolled to the left and then the right. The angle of bank did not exceed 30 degrees. The first officer contacted the flight attendants; who informed him no injuries were sustained by passengers or crew. The first officer reported the wake turbulence encounter to ATC; who responded that our flight was following a heavy 777 and that our courses would diverge soon. The flight continued without further incident. Upon arrival; I notified operations and the chief pilot; in accordance with flight operations manual.
