Narrative:
While out sightseeing with my brother in an small aircraft, I flew just below ridge level in a valley 5 NM sse of ramona airport. I noticed power lines and guide wires and intentionally flew 250-300' over them. While there were power lines below, there was also a single wire strung from 1 hill to the other. The line was very thin and had no type of marker on it. It wasn't until I was about 20' from it that I was able to see it. The cable struck the plane on the spinner, causing the spinner to be bent and the skin on the leading edge of the left wing was dented. The area this happened at was totally barren and there were no houses in the entire valley. I have agreed to pay for all damages to the aircraft in the full amount, and the power company reports no power lines down in that area. I realize I made a mistake and I have learned from it.
