Narrative:
While approaching tyr airport was cleared by the tower to enter a right downwind for runway 13. Could hear tower talking to another aircraft inbound to the airport and giving them our position and altitude. At no time did the tower give us a traffic report on the other aircraft inbound to tyr. As our aircraft was about to turn downwind to runway 13 the aircraft crossed in front of our aircraft at close range and landed. Our aircraft then proceeded to follow the aircraft and landed without incident. I believe had the tower had told us of traffic inbound behind us and the location of the aircraft; I would have been more aware of the traffic and would have avoided that traffic.
