Narrative:

We talked to clearance and asked why were not given the TRUKN1 departure and the response from clearance was that the FMC has an issue with the honeywell box that it won't fly it. I asked can we try it; but still comply with the right turn 040. They said they would let ground know. On departure the mcdu didn't turn at 520 feet like the departure was supposed to so we turned the aircraft to 040 in heading mode. Tower asked if it worked and we reported no it did not. Switched to departure and they cleared us direct dedhd. The pilot monitoring (pm) selected direct dedhd from the departure procedure and then activated it. I was in the turn and the mcdu completely dumped the entire flight plan along with now director or guidance. I knew where dedhd was; so I flew a general heading to it. The pm reprogrammed a fix direct dedhd and then went to LNAV. Upon programming it again; the same thing happened again. This time the pm programmed dedhd without it being in the TRUKN1 departure and the flight plan stayed in the mcdu.why didn't honeywell disclose that this is a known issue so that the training department can let the check airman know about this very threat. I find it extremely troubling that ATC clearance knew about the issue and we as check airman had no clue! This is a threat to us as an operator and a check airman. Honeywell should have informed the company of this issue before even operating this aircraft and very disappointed that sfo clearance knew about this issue and we did not.
