Narrative:
I was cleared for takeoff with a right hand turn to the east. After turning east and climbing to an altitude of approximately 800 AGL the aircraft experienced a loss of power. I quickly turned back towards the airport [and advised ATC] with the intention of landing on [the] runway. At this time it was apparent that I could not glide to the runway. I saw an airport service road and executed an emergency landing.
