Narrative:
I was flying into the baxter county airport late at night. I completed the preflight checklist. Everything checked out. As I turned base on runway 5, the landing light burned out. The landing was completed west/O incident, however. I then turned onto the taxiway and headed toward the parking area. As I turned into the parking area, the nose wheel went off the pavement and sank down into the mud, allowing the propeller to strike the edge of the asphalt. Damages included a bent propeller and a cracked back plate for the spinner. I feel that the turnoff for the parking area was not clearly defined and had the taxiway lights been closer to where the asphalt ended, this could have been avoided.
