Narrative:

Descending on the wynde arrival to ord; approaching rhivr; we encountered the wake turbulence of an A330. The aircraft quickly banked to the right somewhere between 45-60 degrees and pitched down. The autopilot failed and I hand flew the evasive action to fix the upset condition and return to the STAR. We reported it to ATC. They adjusted our descent clearance for the remainder of the STAR to stay above further wake vortices. We resumed the STAR and landed without further issue. Wake from A330 resulted in an aircraft upset; mitigated by hand flying recovery.
