Narrative:
On takeoff from runway 8L from phx airport, experienced #1 engine fire light and bell at approximately 200'. I was the first officer and was flying at the time. Bell was silenced and company procedures followed. The captain notified departure of situation and declared an emergency and I continued to fly and departed local area to dump fuel. #1 engine was shut down but the freon bottles were not discharged because the fire light extinguished before fire handle was pulled as per company procedures. While dumping fuel captain notified F/as, and passengers of situation. He tried to notify company dispatchers, but was unable, so asked departure control to relay to company of situation. I continued around the airport to land on runway 8L at phx airport. Fire fighting equipment was standing by on landing and was asked through tower if any indication of fire was seen. None was noted. Captain taxied aircraft to the gate. Declaration of emergency was cancelled. No injury to passengers, crew, or cargo. No damage to aircraft or other property.
