Narrative:
The flight attendant asked my wife to demonstrate how to open the emergency exit door. I have [much time] with this airline; and have never heard such a request. Still; we were anxious to comply; so we studied the door and safety instructions in the seat pocket. The instructions on the door are quite confusing. The instructions in the seat pocket are so tiny that it is impossible to discern the proper sequence for opening the door. We were unable to figure out how to open the door for several minutes.
