Narrative:
Radar coverage at dulles is intermittent in southeast sector. Controller asked that transponder be recycled several times after radar contact had been established over manassas. Radar contact was lost at approximately 180 degree right and not regained until the 090 degree right.

Title: PLT OF SMA BEING VECTORED BY IAD TRACON ALLEGES RADAR CONTACT WITH HIM WAS LOST BY IAD IN THEIR SE SECTOR BECAUSE OF INADEQUATE RADAR COVERAGE.
Narrative: RADAR COVERAGE AT DULLES IS INTERMITTENT IN SE SECTOR. CTLR ASKED THAT XPONDER BE RECYCLED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER RADAR CONTACT HAD BEEN ESTABLISHED OVER MANASSAS. RADAR CONTACT WAS LOST AT APPROX 180 DEG R AND NOT REGAINED UNTIL THE 090 DEG R.
