Narrative:
After normal takeoff from mdw, gear uplatch check was performed. Result of check was left main gear unsafe light came on and gear door open light came on. Recycled landing gear down which resulted in 3 green lights on, unsafe lights out, and gear door open light on. Landing gear was retracted with no change in previously stated. Because of runway length and safety considerations landing was planned for ord. With emergency equipment standing by, landing at ord was normal. After landing, maintenance advised nut had fallen off a sequencing valve which caused the unsafe indication found after the uplatch check. This resulted in left main gear door contacting runway after landing. No emergency was declared.

Title: ACR HAS GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT IN UP POSITION, LIGHTS OK WHEN GEAR EXTENDED, BUT SUFFERS GEAR DOOR DAMAGE ON LNDG DUE MECHANICAL FAILURE.
Narrative: AFTER NORMAL TKOF FROM MDW, GEAR UPLATCH CHK WAS PERFORMED. RESULT OF CHK WAS L MAIN GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT CAME ON AND GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT CAME ON. RECYCLED LNDG GEAR DOWN WHICH RESULTED IN 3 GREEN LIGHTS ON, UNSAFE LIGHTS OUT, AND GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT ON. LNDG GEAR WAS RETRACTED WITH NO CHANGE IN PREVIOUSLY STATED. BECAUSE OF RWY LENGTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS LNDG WAS PLANNED FOR ORD. WITH EMER EQUIP STANDING BY, LNDG AT ORD WAS NORMAL. AFTER LNDG, MAINT ADVISED NUT HAD FALLEN OFF A SEQUENCING VALVE WHICH CAUSED THE UNSAFE INDICATION FOUND AFTER THE UPLATCH CHK. THIS RESULTED IN L MAIN GEAR DOOR CONTACTING RWY AFTER LNDG. NO EMER WAS DECLARED.
