Narrative:
I'm new on the airplane. Second initial operating experience international trip. I was the pilot flying. I expected more airspeed control by ATC. I was fast when cleared for a visual and I overshot final. We briefed landing on 26R but requested 26L. I turned late and overshot final. I should have been more proactive with speed control. It was a slow time of day.
