Narrative:
On arrival at frg in VFR conditions; we were vectored for a visual. Frg is difficult to find in the lights surrounding it; plus the tower reported haze; though the ATIS said 5 miles visibility. Second in command was pilot flying. Recognized the REIL as did pilot monitoring. Called the airport and were given; cleared [for] the visual contact tower; by approach. Configured at gear down; flaps 20 approaching the runway at about a 45-degree angle and four miles out; the tower instructed 'best forward speed' as another aircraft was following. A little awkward; but okay. Sped up 30 knots or so. At about 1200 MSL; I realized I was seeing the wrong runway. Too close to comfortably salvage; [I] initiated a go around as I aligned with the runway. Pilot monitoring informed the tower; who instructed us to climb to 2000 feet and execute right traffic; she would call our base. We did and landed normally. In [the] future in unfamiliar airspace; I will not allow ATC to hurry me and simply head for the FAF in order to align for landing.
