Narrative:
We were holding short [of the] runway and got cleared to takeoff. I think the controller thought he had told us line up and wait; as after we were on the takeoff roll; he cancelled our takeoff clearance. The aircraft landing [on the] intersecting runway went around on his own accord. We stopped quickly before the intersecting runway. Tower then cleared us to taxi on taxiway before the intersection. I saw pavement to my right and the taxiway was angled backwards; so I thought I was turning onto the taxiway. It turns out that was not where the taxiway was and I might have run over a runway edge light. Tower then re-cleared us and the taxiway was really difficult to see at our angle. We got it the second time and I contacted maintenance for the rejected takeoff; and a check of the nose gear. We returned and maintenance did checks and there was no damage to the aircraft so we continued again with no further issues.
