Narrative:

We received the EICAS message avnx mau 1 fail. At that same time we lost the ca FD; autopilot; auto throttle; MCDU1; as well as ACARS. I stabilized the aircraft in straight and level flight; and maintained fl 370. I transferred the controls to the first officer; and we were able to get back the autopilot; and auto throttle. I ran the QRH for the associated message; and we determined; that we should land. The weather was decent; we did not want to go anywhere where we might encounter icing. The QRH had us multiply the un-factored landing distance by 1.70. We realized that we needed at least 10;400 ft of runway.I called the flight attendant's using the emergency button on the audio panel. I could not hear them clearly so I elected to call them using the normal cabin call button. I gave them the NTSB; and I did not issue a brace command. I also stated that they should prepare the cabin; and await further instructions. We landed and came to a full stop on the runway; at which time I tried using the nose wheel steering to see if I was able to taxi the aircraft under its own power. Thankfully we were able to taxi to the gate normally; and the passenger were able to deplane at the jet bridge. The circuit breaker was found to be broken; by maintenance. There is a possibility that my bag may have damaged the circuit breaker; however; this event happened more than half-way to our destination. I will add that I was not fiddling with my bag at the time of the event.

Narrative: We received the EICAS message AVNX MAU 1 FAIL. At that same time we lost the CA FD; autopilot; auto throttle; MCDU1; as well as ACARS. I stabilized the aircraft in straight and level flight; and maintained FL 370. I transferred the controls to the FO; and we were able to get back the autopilot; and auto throttle. I ran the QRH for the associated message; and we determined; that we should land. The weather was decent; we did not want to go anywhere where we might encounter icing. The QRH had us multiply the un-factored landing distance by 1.70. We realized that we needed at least 10;400 ft of runway.I called the FA's using the EMER button on the audio panel. Thankfully we were able to taxi to the gate normally; and the PAX were able to deplane at the jet bridge. The circuit breaker was found to be broken; by maintenance. There is a possibility that my bag may have damaged the circuit breaker; however; this event happened more than half-way to our destination. I will add that I was not fiddling with my bag at the time of the event.
