Narrative:
Climbing out enroute the captains L2 window arced. There was no associated light but we turned off the respective power switch anyway. A few seconds later the window shattered. It appeared to only be the outer pane so we ran the appropriate QRH. After further inspection we discovered a small portion near the lower; forward section of the window had a crack on the inner pane. We returned to the QRH to complete the necessary steps and decided to divert to the nearest suitable airport. We landed uneventfully and deplaned the passengers at the gate.
