Narrative:
While taxiing into gate tug with a bag cart cut around the plane parked next to us then stopped in front of us. While the forward ramper continued to wave us in and was never given the stop signal. Then there was a thud and plane shook. At that time I applied brakes right away and then set the parking brake. Maintenance was notified and dispatch notified. Then the cart was removed and tug connected to the plane to move it the rest of the way into the gate. Maintenance was out there on the ramp and saw the incident along with an airport maintenance worker.
