Narrative:
Cleared for takeoff; at approximately 147 knots fire warning activated. Performed rejected takeoff procedures. First officer notified tower of the rejected takeoff; asked for crash and fire assistance and made a public address to the passengers to remain seated. Reaching a slow speed; disengaged the auto-brakes and rolled clear of the runway onto an adjacent taxiway. Conducted rejected takeoff checklist. All fire lights were illuminated including wheel well and APU. Called flight attendants who inspected aircraft for smoke and any indication of a fire. Due to the lack of secondary indications of a fire and the fact that all the fire lights were illuminated; we believed the issue was an indication fault; not an actual fire and elected not to evacuate. Coordinated with tower to talk with crash and fire who confirmed visually and with infrared sensors. There was no indication of a fire. Coordinated with tower and operations to return to gate. At the gate; crash and fire did a further inspection of the aircraft and determined there was no fire or indication of a fire. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and determined the module controlling fire indications had malfunctioned.
