Narrative:

Topeka, ks, has 2 airports, foe is south of the city and top is north of town. They are approximately 7 mi apart. I flew into and landed at foe but had mistakenly contacted top tower on its frequency thinking I was in touch with foe. I was in communication with top tower (thinking it was foe) throughout the landing clearance. After landing, I requested the ground frequency. I cleared the active then asked for taxi directions to the combat air museum since I had been to foe only one other time. There was a long pause, then ground gave me directions to the museum and also gave me a phone number to call the tower after parking. When I called, foe tower informed me I had intruded on their airspace and I had been in touch with the wrong tower. That was the first time I was aware that I had been on the wrong frequency. The foe tower was polite, did not advise me of any close calls, near misses or aircraft avoidance as a result of my unannounced arrival. In reviewing the situation, pilot error is obvious. It was my fault. However, a potentially dangerous situation possibly could have been eased if the top tower had picked up that I was identify foe tower on my radio calls and asked for a clarification. Also, if I was not in sight on a clear day just off the end of the runway, tower might have held up on a clearance to land. The plane, an small aircraft, is mode 'C', transponder equipped, but I was not asked to identify. There were coincidences. The airports are fairly close to each other, both had runway 13 active and it is fortunate that it was a weekday morning and traffic was not heavy.

Title: UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE AND SUBSEQUENT UNAUTH LNDG.

Narrative: TOPEKA, KS, HAS 2 ARPTS, FOE IS S OF THE CITY AND TOP IS N OF TOWN. THEY ARE APPROX 7 MI APART. I FLEW INTO AND LANDED AT FOE BUT HAD MISTAKENLY CONTACTED TOP TWR ON ITS FREQ THINKING I WAS IN TOUCH WITH FOE. I WAS IN COM WITH TOP TWR (THINKING IT WAS FOE) THROUGHOUT THE LNDG CLRNC. AFTER LNDG, I REQUESTED THE GND FREQ. I CLRED THE ACTIVE THEN ASKED FOR TAXI DIRECTIONS TO THE COMBAT AIR MUSEUM SINCE I HAD BEEN TO FOE ONLY ONE OTHER TIME. THERE WAS A LONG PAUSE, THEN GND GAVE ME DIRECTIONS TO THE MUSEUM AND ALSO GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL THE TWR AFTER PARKING. WHEN I CALLED, FOE TWR INFORMED ME I HAD INTRUDED ON THEIR AIRSPACE AND I HAD BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE WRONG TWR. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I WAS AWARE THAT I HAD BEEN ON THE WRONG FREQ. THE FOE TWR WAS POLITE, DID NOT ADVISE ME OF ANY CLOSE CALLS, NEAR MISSES OR ACFT AVOIDANCE AS A RESULT OF MY UNANNOUNCED ARR. IN REVIEWING THE SITUATION, PLT ERROR IS OBVIOUS. IT WAS MY FAULT. HOWEVER, A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION POSSIBLY COULD HAVE BEEN EASED IF THE TOP TWR HAD PICKED UP THAT I WAS IDENT FOE TWR ON MY RADIO CALLS AND ASKED FOR A CLARIFICATION. ALSO, IF I WAS NOT IN SIGHT ON A CLR DAY JUST OFF THE END OF THE RWY, TWR MIGHT HAVE HELD UP ON A CLRNC TO LAND. THE PLANE, AN SMA, IS MODE 'C', XPONDER EQUIPPED, BUT I WAS NOT ASKED TO IDENT. THERE WERE COINCIDENCES. THE ARPTS ARE FAIRLY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER, BOTH HAD RWY 13 ACTIVE AND IT IS FORTUNATE THAT IT WAS A WEEKDAY MORNING AND TFC WAS NOT HVY.
