Narrative:
While approaching ord from rfd we were assigned vectors for runway 22R. We were never advised of a runway change to 27R, and the controller cleared us for the approach not mentioning the runway #. After getting the airport in sight, I advised missed approach, and the controller said to descend to 2500', 290 degree heading, and to call airport in sight. I advised we did have the airport in sight. The controller cleared us for the visibility approach for 27R.
