Narrative:
Terminal east on gates X and Y; [there are] no markings in red as to the [location of the] safe operating zones. This is very dangerous on arrivals I witnessed this afternoon. We had to stop the aircraft and move equipment as we were unable to judge the safe zone with no markings. These gates are wide body gates and that's the explanation the agents on the gates gave me. We do need markings please.
