Narrative:
We were navigating on the kepec 6 into las vegas. We were never cleared via the arrival. We were given some radar vectors altitudes and speeds; then direct ipumy. After ipumy; we were given speed 210. Slowing down we encountered wake turbulence rocking the aircraft side to side. We increased power to compensate. Then we were given 170kts descend to 7000 feet. Right before we started the descent ATC said; 'speed 170; why have you sped up?' we dumped the throttles; deployed speed brakes for immediate slow down. My first officer replied only; it was unintentional. During the wake turbulence; we added power and neglected to [slow] quickly enough. We then descended and maintained 170 to a six-mile final on the given visual approach as directed.
