Narrative:
During cruise when the first officer (first officer) needed to use the lavatory; I noticed the face seal on the O2 mask did not seal around the temple areas. The mask is a tan color and not the usual grey color. First time I have seen this color for the mask. I am not sure if my head is an odd shape or if these new masks are defective but they should be checked out and evaluated. If the face mask does not seal; it would allow smoke and fumes to penetrate and irritate the eyes.
