Narrative:
On the day in question; we left on an IFR flight plan to clw in which there were rain showers and some thunderstorms in all of florida. The aircraft has all the latest amenities including a full garmin glass panel. Part of that package includes a subscription for xm weather. The problem came when for some unknown reason; sirius decided to turn off xm weather to our aircraft without any previous notice. We consider xm weather as a 'safety of flight' item much like approach charts or airborne weather radar. This is not the first time this has happened; but the third time in the past year alone. We are hoping that this is an isolated incident for the alternative is truly a very disturbing situation.
