Narrative:
The aircraft sustained a hard landing in gusty condition which caused the nose gear to collapse and the aircraft rolled onto its right side and slid to a stop. Only scrapes and minor bruises were sustained by the occupants. I should have applied full power sooner to do a go around. I also believe that the brake was being applied by the person in the front seat which may have caused the nose gear to collapse on first contact with the runway.
