Narrative:
After takeoff from palomar airport I performed 2 or 3 power on and power off stalls. I then proceeded to ramona airport via the 100 degree right ocn 115.3. I performed 2 power off lndgs at ramona and then took off for palomar at 270 degree. After 10 mins I called palomar tower 118.6 on initial contact for a straight-in to runway 24. Palomar gave ok and to report at lake san marcus. I turned to a heading of 240 degree when I saw what I thought was lake san marcus. Palomar called to say they could not locate me and to squawk 4500 and 'identify'. After further 'idents' palomar told me to call san diego approach 119.6 because I was over miramar AFB. I called san diego and they told me to climb to 4500' and turn to 300 degree, they vectored me over the coast and released me to continue VFR navigation until palomar. After landing, I realized that the stalls I performed had misaligned my compass rose 35 degrees and I had failed to adjust it. In conclusion, I think my lack of familiarity with the area and lack of flying the last couple of months contributed to the violation.

Title: LOW TIME PLT FAILS TO ADJUST HEADING INDICATOR AFTER MANEUVERS AND PENETRATES TCA DUE TO INCORRECT HEADING.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF FROM PALOMAR ARPT I PERFORMED 2 OR 3 PWR ON AND PWR OFF STALLS. I THEN PROCEEDED TO RAMONA ARPT VIA THE 100 DEG R OCN 115.3. I PERFORMED 2 PWR OFF LNDGS AT RAMONA AND THEN TOOK OFF FOR PALOMAR AT 270 DEG. AFTER 10 MINS I CALLED PALOMAR TWR 118.6 ON INITIAL CONTACT FOR A STRAIGHT-IN TO RWY 24. PALOMAR GAVE OK AND TO RPT AT LAKE SAN MARCUS. I TURNED TO A HDG OF 240 DEG WHEN I SAW WHAT I THOUGHT WAS LAKE SAN MARCUS. PALOMAR CALLED TO SAY THEY COULD NOT LOCATE ME AND TO SQUAWK 4500 AND 'IDENT'. AFTER FURTHER 'IDENTS' PALOMAR TOLD ME TO CALL SAN DIEGO APCH 119.6 BECAUSE I WAS OVER MIRAMAR AFB. I CALLED SAN DIEGO AND THEY TOLD ME TO CLB TO 4500' AND TURN TO 300 DEG, THEY VECTORED ME OVER THE COAST AND RELEASED ME TO CONTINUE VFR NAV UNTIL PALOMAR. AFTER LNDG, I REALIZED THAT THE STALLS I PERFORMED HAD MISALIGNED MY COMPASS ROSE 35 DEGS AND I HAD FAILED TO ADJUST IT. IN CONCLUSION, I THINK MY LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH THE AREA AND LACK OF FLYING THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS CONTRIBUTED TO THE VIOLATION.
