Narrative:
A corporate jet went around at on a visual approach 14R. A B777 was on an ILS 16L approach to an adjacent airport. Earlier in the week (2 days prior); I reported the go-around line as not working properly. When called for the go-around; there was only a single tone and no voice. The departure controller shouted go-around to the room; and it was the only reason I knew. This was a really scary event and we should not have simultaneous approaches to these airports no matter how good the weather is. These planes were at the same altitude and only .67 NM. This facility should not use this procedure because of this reason. These airports should be sequenced as one. This is way too close and we should not wait until two planes collide to change this.
