Narrative:
Filed VFR flight plan to naples municipal (apf). In order to remain within us ADIZ the plan was to fly from ZZZ toward marathon; then north to cross over florida keys bay then direct to apf. Within minutes of takeoff I determined that weather (heavy rain showers) would not permit me to remain VFR unless I flew north immediately upon takeoff. Weather slowly pushed me west and it became apparent that I could not remain VFR within the us ADIZ. I exited the us ADIZ at approximately N25-30/W081-30. Attempts to contact an ATC facility failed due to heavy VHF traffic [and] due to hazardous weather in all miami center sectors. Without filing a DVFR; I re-entered us ADIZ at approximately N254339/W0814011. Root cause: poor situational awareness on enroute weather (departure field and apf were both clear and while foreflight weather brief did indicate thunderstorms and heavy rain showers east of my intended track; it appears the weather extended further west than forecast.) and failure to contact an ATC facility prior to approaching the us ADIZ.
