Narrative:

While working a sector; I was put into unsafe situations by management and tmu (traffic management unit). They over loaded the sector by volume and complexity with no help. The sector became unmanageable because of frequency congestion and altitude restrictions.we can not count on management and tmu to protect us. This is a sad statement; but a true one. We need to be able to have confidence that they will not allow a sector to become unsafe by overloading it with rerouted aircraft because of weather. They need to provide us with in-trail restrictions; shutting off departures and such.
