Narrative:
*On takeoff roll from atl the flight crew heard a loud bang that they could not identify, so the takeoff was aborted. After power reduction they noticed unusual engine indications on #1 engine and shut it down as they taxied back to the blocks. Post-flight inspection revealed that the engine had disintegrated. The aircraft was grounded for an engine change. There was no fire warning and emergency ground equipment was not needed.
