Narrative:
At an uncontrolled off airport location my small aircraft was on landing rollout on the mud flats. The aircraft was near taxi speed when the left main gear broke in half, just above the axle bolts. The aircraft gear dug into the runway surface and the nose went down and struck the cowl and propeller. The right wing swung around and the leading edge and wing tip hit the ground and did minor damage to the wing and fuselage. On examination of the landing gear it appeared to have rust spots on the spring steel where it broke in half. I believe that the landing gear was cracked and had been stressed or damaged somehow prior to this incident and finally broke causing this aircraft damage.
